We have five standard queen bedrooms, and one studio room (with en-suite) available to book at the Nelson hotel. (see photos below)
The bathrooms for the standard queen rooms are communal and located opposite the rooms. There are both male and female bathrooms and they are deep cleaned every morning. The female bathroom has two toilets and two shower cubicles, and the male bathroom has one toilet and two shower cubicles.
The studio room has a private en-suite bathroom and with fridge and mini bar.
All bedrooms come with bedding and towels included, and body wash, shampoo and conditioner in all the bathrooms. Each bedroom is also fitted with ceiling fans, heaters and luggage racks.
There is also a communal lounge room, with a smart TV and selection of reading material which all guests are welcome to use while they stay at the Nelson Hotel, located next to our queen rooms.

2 night package deals:
Wednesday and Thursday nights - Standard queen room:
Mid week all inclusive package includes accommodation in a standard queen room (for room inclusions see ‘Accommodation only..’) PLUS:
breakfast hamper - selection of continental style offerings for both Thursday and Friday
Wednesday and Thursday dinner - anything on the bistro menu, or specials board
Thursday lunch - EITHER - lunch from anything on the bistro menu and specials board OR if you’re intending to be siteseeing or away from the hotel, a packed picnic hamper for you to take with you
a drinks package (6 drinks included, select from any of our bon tap offerings, any of our Patrick’s P Series, Koonara, or 6ft6 range of wines, standard spirits and mixer)

Friday and Saturday night package deals:
All the same inclusions as above for mid-week PLUS a 1 ½ - 2 hour cruise on the Glenelg River with the Glenelg River Cruises (weather and schedule permitting - EITHER a Saturday or Sunday afternoon leaving approx 2.00pm)
PRICE - one person $450 - 2 people sharing existing queen bed $665 (this is for BOTH people)

We are the only restaurant in town, the next is either 35 minutes to Mt Gambier, or Port MacDonnell or 45 minutes to Portland, and we love to see you here for a good meal, cold beer, and some conversation as well. Also check out our retreat packages.
We sometimes get busy here, lunch and dinner, and we love to have people come, and hate to turn people away, so please book!

Things to do in the area
Glenelg River Cruise’s
Cruise abroad the top deck of the Nelson Explorer or sit inside the cosy cabin of the Nelson Endeavour and set sail on a journey down the Glenelg River.

Canoe/Kayak Hire
Choose to paddle for just a few hours or for a few days! Rent a canoe or kayak from one of the local hire companies and enjoy cruising down the Glenelg river, taking in the wonderful sites and spotting the wildlife. There are many campsites on the river to choose from, should you adventure overnight.
Fishing
On the verge of South Australia, the beautiful Glenelg river remains unknown to many Aussie fisherman. The river is home to black breams, estuary perch, yellow eyed mullet, mulloway, jewfish and much more. Don’t miss out on this super catch!
The Estuary
Visit the meeting place for the Glenelg river and the Southern Ocean, the longest estuary in Victoria. Here you can also take a dip in the Discovery Bay Estuary beach.
Simsons Landing/ Isle of Bags
Our local and idyllic swimming spots, within 20 minutes walk. Walk from the pub under the eucalyptus trees, along the bank of the river, and you will reach the Isle of Bags and Simpsons landing man-made beaches. Have a BBQ, take a dip or simply relax. These landings are also used by boats setting off for their day of fishing.
Great Southwest Walk
The Great Southwest walk can be explored through short walks, or overnight hikes. Luckily, we have it right on our doorstep! You can join the walk from Nelson, but if you have started the walk from afar, then pop in here for a warm brew and shower to freshen up before continuing your journey!
